The Road to Hana is one of the most famous drives in the world, and for good reason. It’s a 64-mile stretch of two (and often one) lane road that cuts deep into Maui’s lush rain forest as it winds along the north shore coastline. The Halfway to Hana Tour features some of the Road to Hana’s most memorable sights. With waterfalls plunging down into the jungle from high above, splashes of brilliant floral colors, breathtaking vistas, and even a bamboo forest you can explore, it’s no wonder this is one of the most popular excursions in Hawaii. As you watch it all unfold before your eyes, on this private Hana tour you will learn about the rich history of Hawaii, its colorful people and ancient legends told like no one else tells it.
This Private Hana Tour begins with breakfast at Ho’okipa Beach, home of the world-famous surfers and windsurfers, with its incredible views of the north shore coast. From there, the journey continues deep into the jungles of Maui, where each turn in the road reveals a new scenic overlook. Nearing the half way point is the Ke’anae Peninsula, which boast some of the best views on Maui. The mid-way stop is at one of the highway’s best roadside stands, aptly called the Halfway to Hana Stand. Here you can enjoy a treat of ice cream and some of the most delicious varieties of banana bread on-island.

Testimonials
Road to Hana veteran, best trip yet!
We’ve travelled the “Road to Hana” several times. Driven it twice. Rode once in a 12 passenger van on a tour. This time we took the private tour with Maui Legend Tours. Our guide was Jack, he’s been in Hawaii since 1979 and knows a lot of the history and local culture. We found his knowledge of Hawaiian history and his ability to share it very pleasurable. He stopped at multiple sites along the road and gave us ample time for pictures. This was a “high end” tour in an Escalade and we enjoyed it immensely.Interesting and informative tour of a beautiful area
Jack was a great host who provided a detailed commentary of the legends and history of Maui. He stopped at beautiful sights and pointed out details along the way. He drove the challenging route with confidence allowing us to focus on the surroundings. The company was helpful and accommodating when a change of plans was required. Highly recommended.Explore our other private tours
